I think we went through some ideological changes over the years and our outlook and our mission changed somewhat. It went from a strictly anti-Klan organization to one that’s involved in broader issues. That was one of the reasons the name was changed in 1985 to the CDR…. We used to do a lot of community organizing-type of work, but now we focus more on research.
